A Spirited Affair: Recap of the Socorro Spirit Festival in Goa

On December 6, 2025, the vibrant atmosphere of Goa was electrified by the much-anticipated Socorro Spirit Festival, a two-day extravaganza hosted by tulleehó, Escape Goa, and Escape with MIGUEL'S. This event was a celebration of craft spirits, featuring tastings, workshops, and pop-up experiences, all set against the stunning backdrop of lush gardens and open fields at the enchanting Escape venue, owned by the visionary Ritu Beri. This was an extraordinary experience from the moment we arrived, the hosts greeted us with warm smiles, setting a welcoming tone for the evening. They handed us the itinerary for the night and graciously guided us through the beautifully curated space, making it easy to navigate the various tasting stations and activities. This thoughtful attention to detail ensured that we felt at ease and ready to immerse ourselves in the festivities.

As we stepped into this wonderland, the first thing that caught our attention was the diverse array of craft cocktails that lined the bar. The festival showcased some of the finest brands in the industry, each bringing a unique flair to the table.

Craft Cocktails that Captivated

House of Samsara was a standout, offering a luxury Indian craft gin inspired by Jaipur, the "Pink City." We indulged in the Soiree in the City of Pink Samsara, a  delightful concoction of the City Of Pink, lemon, homemade berry jam, and a whimsical marshmallow garnish. The Spiced Pina Colada Sitāra followed, a tropical blend of botanical spiced rum, mango puree, mango juice, and coconut milk, all beautifully finished with a Tajin salt rim. Both cocktails were a feast for the senses.

Next on our tasting journey was Hapusā Himalayan Dry Gin, whose earthy and piney profile was highlighted in the Himalayan Picante Highball. This invigorating drink combined Hapusā gin with Tobasco, smoked pineapple cordial, coriander, lime, and Sober & Co soda, delivering a refreshing kick that embodied the spirit of the mountains.

The spotlight then shifted to Zoya, a premium gin from Goa, known for its unique botanicals. I savoured the Bandra Barbie, a vibrant cosmopolitan crafted with Rangeela vodka, raspberry, cranberry, orange, mandarin, and lime—perfectly chic and refreshing. Gareth opted for the Tropical Mood, a stunning blend of Zoya gin with coconut, lychee, lime, kaffir lime, and a hint of green chilli essence, transporting us straight to a tropical paradise.

Arthaus, part of the same family, impressed with their Blended Malt Scotch Whisky served on the rocks, complemented by notes of vanilla, dried fruit, and honey. This classic drink added a touch of sophistication to the evening.

Our next stop was Usacha, renowned as "the spirit with a soul." Their Ananas Curry cocktail showcased white rum infused with pineapple, curry leaf, and a hint of chili—a tropical vacation in a glass that was both refreshing and intriguing.

We then ventured into the world of Goonda, a 100% Indian agave spirit. The El Goonda SLK Drop-Top was a delightful surprise, featuring strawberry with litchi and kokum infusion, garnished with rose petals—an elegant and fragrant drink that stood out among the rest.

The exploration continued with Absinthe La Ananta, India’s first absinthe, made with wormwood, anise, and fennel. The Susagaad cocktail combined this unique spirit with citrus, mint leaves, and club soda, offering a refreshing twist that was both herbal and invigorating.

Finally, we wrapped up our cocktail journey with Vinaha Artisan Forest, an earthy, woody aromatic gin. The Vinaha Tropic Passion cocktail, featuring pineapple and passion fruit, rounded off our tasting experience perfectly, leaving us with a lasting impression of its complex flavors.

Culinary Delights and Family

Alongside the remarkable cocktails, Escape with MIGUEL'S Garden Bistro & Bar provided a mouthwatering menu of bistro-style comfort foods. From an array of tacos—featuring chicken, wild mushroom, and pulled banana flower—to arancini and deep-fried mac & cheese, the culinary offerings were as impressive as the drinks. The tacos, in particular, were some of the best we’ve ever had, perfectly complementing the spirited atmosphere.

This festival was not just for adults; it was also a kid-friendly event, with activities that engaged both children and adults alike. Families enjoyed the blend of fun and sophistication, making it a memorable outing for everyone.

A Magical Experience

As the sun set, the venue transformed into a magical space filled with live music, laughter, and the clinking of glasses. The crowd relished the spirits and vibrant vibes, creating an unforgettable experience. The event operated cashless, allowing attendees to load a District/Zomato card for seamless access to all the delights on offer.

At the end of the night, the hospitality continued, as each guest was asked about their experience and attendants personally escorted everyone to their cars or taxis, ensuring a safe journey home. It was a perfect blend of warmth, care, and celebration that made the event truly unforgettable.

In conclusion, the Socorro Spirit Festival at Escape Goa was a resounding success, showcasing the best of craft cocktails and culinary delights in a stunning setting. Whether you’re a spirit enthusiast or simply looking for a unique experience, Escape Goa is a destination you must visit on your next trip to the region. With its blend of retail, events, and dining, it’s a true haven for creatives and lovers of life alike. Cheers to unforgettable moments and new flavors!
